Floral Bouquet

Your bouquet will be delivered to The Junction beautifully gift-wrapped and in its own water source. As soon as possible follow our handy hints below:

• Add flower food to your vase of water.
• No flower food? Try this DIY recipe: Add a dash of bleach to keep bacteria at bay; Add a dash of lemon juice to help the water move up the stems; And add a teaspoon of sugar to feed your flowers.
• Trim the bottom of your stems so they can drink again in water as they start to seal over very quickly.
• Repeat this process every three days with fresh water and trimmed stems.
• Special Tip: If you receive one of our bouquets, leaving the elastic band on will keep every flower sitting perfectly in place in its vase.

The Junction is a small inner-city suburb located three kilometres southwest of Newcastle's central business district, in the local government area of the City of

Newcastle. Formerly a part of neighbouring Merewether, The Junction is now its own official suburb and is situated between Bar Beach to the east and Merewether to the west. The Junction enjoys convenient proximity to Newcastle CBD and the city's eastern beaches, of which Bar Beach and Merewether Beach are closest.

History

Following European settlement, the suburb was originally a part of the Burwood Estate, and was later a part of the suburb of Merewether - named after the former estate's owner, Christopher Merewether. Merewether was incorporated as a municipality in 1885 and became part of the newly formed "City of Greater Newcastle" in 1938. The Junction was gazetted as its own suburb, separate to Merewether, in 1991.

The Junction is a very small suburb, with Glebe Road acting as its primary thoroughfare. The Junction Village shopping centre is based in the suburb's centre, on Kenrick Street, and Junction Fair shopping centre is found nearby. The Junction Public School is situated in the suburb's south, opposite Rowlands Park. Bar Beach and Merewether Beach are within easy walking distance of The Junction.
